Underground Economy

I am all in favor of President Obama's statements regarding fiscal responsibility. As a bookkeeper, I know enough about the economy to realize that credit is not solid if it can't be turned into hard cash, or real money. So right up front, let's grab some hard cash from the underground economy, which is loaded up with money. The state of California has just today introduced legislation to tax and regulate marijuana in the same manner that alcohol is taxed and regulated. Common sense is what the author calls it. I agree, let's put that underground economy into our destitute marketplace.

Economic Angst Turning To Despair

Ok, I've had enough of it. My nerves are shot, and I'm holding out on a day to day basis. Where the hell is a job for me? Way too old to be playing this.

The bad taste of the Bush administration hangs like fog. Yes, we're happy that it's over. But we're all wandering around like accident victims, not able to think and barely able to function. I think it's called shock.

Let's have the beloved Underground Economy bail out the troubled financial state of the U.S. They could put some badly needed cash in the system. Let's see, why is that? Oh righto, it's a cash system. Credit bad.

So. . .how much does this country spend on drugs? Hmmmm, cops, courts, prisons. And how much taxable income could we bring in?

Legalize It Already

New prez, so maybe it's finally time to wise up and legalize marijuana. What a boost to the economy that would be! We could stop building prisons. Whoa. Cops, courts, prisons all cost the taxpayers big bucks.
